George Wilson ’14 – News

On September 11, 2013 Romeo High school’s 2012-2013 yearbook was awarded Michigan States Spartan Award. Michigan Interscholastic Press Association at MSU gives out awards based on yearbook’s design, writing, and photographs. Romeo’s yearbook has won this top honor award four years in a row.

“Our theme was Ampersand. [&] The theme was at first hard to develop, but as we did more and more, it was easier to understand. The pressure was a lot to handle because three years in a row the book was awarded the Spartan Award, so we had to meet the expectation.” Kyle Grzegorzewski (11), Co editor-in-chief of the yearbook.”

With the pressure on the yearbook staff of following the previous years accomplishments, Kim Droope, adviser of the yearbook, is honored to be a part of such an achievement.

“I’m very proud of them. It is always nice to have your hard work recognized, they worked so hard and put in so many extra hours, they deserved this,” Droope said.
