Chloe Lucci ‘19: Each year, Wesner Tuxedo hosts a show highlighting seniors in Macomb County. Originating in 1999, the show allows seniors to shine on stage in front of family and friends, all while competing for prizes and scholarship money.
Wesner Tuxedo picks from a variety of students who excel in different subjects, from band, to theater, to NHS, to football, a little bit of the school is being represented. During the ceremony, each senior is mentioned for their achievements and awards, all while modeling Wesner tuxedos and fancy dresses.
“The Wesner show is a cool opportunity to be showcased in that kind of environment and to be awarded for my achievements,” Kamryn Duffield ‘18 said.
Students who participate in the show receive chances to win prizes in a raffle. Such prizes include: pizza every week for a year, a 55” television, a trip to Cedar Point, gift cards and more.
The show also presents so many opportunities for students to make new friends and memories.
“I am excited to get to know students from other schools and to get items that might help me get settled into my college dorm,” Megan Bieganski ‘18 said.
Students prepare for the show by dressing up and practicing many different poses in front of the mirror, for the anticipated runway walk.
The shows take place on March 9, 10, 11, 16, and 17.
