On Saturday, the Romeo Bulldogs ice hockey team defeated Canton in a non-conference home game by a score of 6-3.
The first period was a defensive battle as both teams went into the locker room scoreless. The Bulldogs offense started to heat up early with a goal by Luke Kaczor(10). Kaczor’s goal sparked a fiery Bulldog offense as Mitchell Pacitti(12), Mitchell Bidus(11) and Kaczor all added goals, giving the Bulldogs a comfortable 4-2 lead after 2 periods.
Canton started the period with a goal to make it a 1 goal game, but it was soon out of reach as Nick Blankenburg(10) and Logan Jenuwine(10) both made the puck find the net in the third period.
“Nick Santi(12) was the difference maker in the game, he does not get enough credit in our eyes but he really deserves it for what he does between the pipes.” Pacitti said about his goalie.
Romeo improved their record to 15-3-2 on the season and will square off against Crestwood High school on February 12.
