Breanna Olley – It may be getting colder out but things are heating up for Romeo Varsity Volleyball.

The Bulldogs defeated Dakota Tuesday night with a 3-1 win.

Junior outside hitter, Gia Milana ‘16 returned after a lingering 12 week injury, showing the MAC Red what they have been missing. Involving Milana in the offense again led to a great performance in her debut game, giving everyone something to talk about.

“Things are going great for me.” Milana said. “It started a little shaky at first because I haven’t played in a while but once I started to get into my groove I was back to normal.”

Milana led the team with 20 kills on the night and big blocks at the net.

Senior setter Lauren Korth ‘15 connected well with Milana and her middles all through the night.

“It’s nice having Gia back because I know I can always go to the outside when needed.” Korth said. “Our middle game is really strong also so it makes it easier to know I have great hitters all along the net.”

Sophomore Jodie Kelly ‘17 and Freshman Madison Frick ‘18 chipped in 7 kills apiece for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs improve to 2-0 in the MAC Red and will face Port Huron Thursday.
