Megan Doyle ‘21: The Romeo Volleyball team faced their first district game on Wednesday, November 4th against the Eisenhower Eagles.
Fighting to make it to the next round of districts, the Bulldogs and the Eagles both played their hearts out. The Bulldogs started off with intense energy. As the game continued, the Eagles got ahold of the Bulldogs, resulting in a sweep for all three matches against Romeo.
Although the Bulldogs lost the game, Addison Heimbuch ‘21 looks on the bright side of things.
“I’m not happy with how the game turned out but I’m grateful that I got one last time to play with the girls that I have been playing with since sixth grade,” Heimbuch said.
With the season coming to an end, Heimbuch gave some helpful advice to the upcoming Bulldogs.
“I hope that they know to never give up on themselves; it will be the most important thing to remember,” Heimbuch said.
Finishing the season with a record of 4-5, the Bulldogs know exactly what they need to accomplish for next season. Junior, Cassidy Banach reveals her enthusiasm and input on what skills will help them come out stronger next year.
“I’m excited for next year but I do think that our team needs to work on confidence and working together as a team, not as individuals on the court,” Banach said.
Ecstatic to create a stronger bond, the Bulldogs look forward to preparing for great competition in years to come.
