Kade Messner ‘17: Winning 3-2 in a thrilling match against Lake Orion High School, the volleyball team advanced to the Regional finals last night at home. The girls beat the Dragons, 25-23, 14-25, 21-25, 25-21, and 16-14.

Being her usual self, Gia Milana ‘16 finished with 13 digs, seven blocks, three aces, and lead the team in kills with 40, including the last two kills in the fifth set, which won the game for the Bulldogs.

“I knew she had it in her,” coach Stacy Williams said. “She’s an All American for a reason. She’s a go-to kid and she’ll come through when you need her.”

Assisting on 46 points, Breanna Olley ‘16 also contributed 12 digs and six blocks. Jodie Kelly ‘17 pitched in with 10 kills, 12 digs, and five blocks. Erica LaBaere ‘16 killed two shots and finished with 10 digs.

“I just kept picturing what this whole community has done for me and all that the coaches have taught me,” Milana said. “The blessing I’ve been given by God, how can you not play like it’s your last game out there? We played for each other and that’s why we won.”

Advancing to the Regional finals tomorrow night against Eisenhower High School, the team play at home at 7pm. Come out and get loud for your defending state champions!
