Breanna Olley ‘16 – Maintaining solid offense and defense the varsity softball team improved their record to 4-0 over the weekend.

Playing a doubleheader on Saturday, the girls took on Regina.

During the second inning of the first game, Breanna Olley ‘16, hit a homerun to increase the Bulldogs’ lead to 2-0.

Striking back late in the game, Regina tied the game up at 2 in the top of the seventh inning.

The Bulldogs couldn’t respond in the bottom of the seventh and were sent to extra innings.

Scoring a run, Regina took a lead 3-2 in the top of the eighth inning.

Reaching base with a walk, Madisyn Collins ‘17 was the tying run. Olley hit a shot up the middle to tie the game up at 3. That is all the damage the Bulldogs would do until the bottom of the ninth.

Danielle Szjana ‘15 hit a single, scoring Kayla Noch ‘15 to take a 4-3 win over the Saddlelites.

Olley was 3-4 with 2 RBIs, and Dana Lewis ‘15 was the winning pitcher, striking out three and walking none.

In the nightcap the Bulldogs took another 4-3 win.

Noch was 3-3, and Erin Barg ‘15 had two hits. Collins got the win, striking out three.

The Bulldogs will face off again tomorrow in a league game against rival Dakota, at Dakota High School at 4 o’clock.
