Robert Gjelaj ‘19 On Monday, September 24th, the Bulldogs played the L’anse Creuse North Crusaders. After a hard fought game, the Bulldogs came out with a 1-1 tie. Nick Maue ‘19 scored late in the game giving the Bulldogs hope for a victory. A 4-2-2 conference record on the season puts the Bulldogs in second place in the MAC White.
“The game was very exciting, at the beginning we were not playing like ourselves which was not good but then we ended up getting together and pulling up a late goal in the second half by Nick Maue. Which motivated us to keep fighting but we just could not finish our chances and we have to work on that,” Marjon Bujaj ‘19 said.
The Bulldogs faced the Fraser Ramblers on Wednesday, September 26. The Bulldogs played another tough game, with the outcome not in their favor. The Ramblers opened up the game scoring 23 minutes into the second half, giving them the lead. Despite multiple scoring chances, the Bulldogs failed to capitalize.
“I’m disappointed about yesterday’s game,” Alex Toghe ‘20 said. “We had lots of opportunities to score and we didn’t. The other [team] had, at most, 10 shots and they scored. We had to win that game to win our conference. We did not get the outcome we desired, however the season is not over. We have to fix our mistakes at practice and put the ball in the net. Simple as that.”
The team continues their season on Saturday, September 29th when they face Eisenhower High School at Swinehart Field.
