Zef Djurasevic ’19: The Romeo Lacrosse team kicked their season off against Royal Oak High School in Royal Oak on Thursday, March 21. The team played a fantastic game winning 14-4, behind six goals from forward Kaleb Schimon ‘19, five from Eric Fraeyman ‘19, one from Seth VonHiltmyer ‘22, one from Brandon Apel ‘19, and one from Chase Alverson ‘21.

“It’s nice when you see shots hit the back of the net, the team got me the ball and I was paying them back with some goals. Good team win.” Schimon said.

The Romeo Lacrosse team played their first home game of the season on Monday, March 25 against Stony Creek High School. The boys started strong taking a 9-2 lead at half. The Cougars played a strong second half, but in the end they failed to knock off the Bulldogs. Romeo won 10-8 behind three goals from Schimon, another three from Fraeyman, one from VonHiltmayer, one from Alverson, one from Fabrizio Raciti 21’ and Sam Smith 21’ tagged on one more.

“I think we need to keep working on communication and just the fundamentals of the game. They come a long way on being a good team, but it is nice starting 2-0,” Logan Iafrate ‘20 said.

The boys take on L’Anse Creuse North High School on Thursday, April 11 at Barnabo Stadium at 7:00 P.M.
