Chloe Lucci ‘17: After working on a new facility, Total Sports Park now hosts an indoor complex for soccer, volleyball, pickleball, ice hockey, softball, dance, football, lacrosse, and baseball.
Many Macomb County school soccer teams, such as Dakota and yours truly, Romeo, practice with excitement to begin the 2018 spring soccer season. With new upcoming players and a new soccer field the everyone expresses jubilant feelings.
“I’m looking forward to playing at the new facility a lot,” Jessica Roland ‘18 said. “I think it will definitely help us improve as a team and it is much more convenient for our soccer program. It’s nice to have a new field close to where we live.”
Having an indoor soccer field close to Romeo happens to be very convenient for the players and coaches. In previous years, Romeo coaches expected players to drive to Chesterfield for tryouts and other pre-season practices.
Now instead of driving, players have time to finish homework, practice, and catch up on sleep.
“I think the new complex is going to be much more convenient, as well as, a money saver because without traveling as far I will be saving money on gas,” Alyson Malczewski ‘19.
Total Sports plans to host a soccer league to kick off the 2018 soccer season. However, the turf installation took longer than expected.
The new complex also holds baseball training with tall ceilings, five batting cages, and professional instruction. They also provide an indoor softball league for parents who just need a break.
Total Sports presents many opportunities for all upcoming athletes in the Romeo/Washington area, as well as their five other locations around Macomb county.
