Claire Spitz ‘20: As the fall season picks up, so does the excitement for homecoming. Coming up next week, Haunted Homecoming lies just around the corner.

Homecoming Week falls on October 21-25 this year, and Romeo’s Student Council provides a packed schedule for the student body to enjoy this year.

Bre LePage ‘20, the senior class president, explains how Student Council decided on the spirit days this year.

“We really wanted to pick spirit days that allowed everyone to dress up! They all have things you can wear right out of your closet, so even more people can participate and get excited for hoco week,” LePage said.

A fan favorite, the week starts with Jersey Day on Monday. An oppurtunity to rep their favorite sports team, the students wear their favorite team’s jersey, team colors, eyeblack, etc. To get excited for the annual Powderpuff game that night, the players also wear their jerseys to school.

Tuesday brings a blast from the past: Hippie Day! Look groovy in your coolest tie dye apparel, colored sunglasses, flowers, peace signs, and more.

“This day is definitely my favorite,” Mikala Motligin ‘20, executive treasurer of Student Council, said. “It wil be really fun to see what everyone wears, and it is something we haven’t done yet!”

Bring your cowboy hats on Wednesday, because the 23rd is Hick Day. Flannel friday comes just two days early, with the addition of some camo and cowboy boots, too. Wednesday night is the Homecoming Parade in town at, so make sure to come out and support your bulldogs!

A tradition of Romeo’s Student Council, Thursday is Class Color Day – but this year it comes with a twist. Following the Halloween theme, the colors for each class have changed. Freshman wear black, Sophomores wear orange, Juniors wear purple, and Seniors wear all three, all out.

The final day of the week, students wear their homecoming shirts. Purchase the black long-sleeve shirts throughout the entire week for $15 – perfect for the black out game that night! Get excited for the pep rally at the end of the school day, by wearing your homecoming shirt or black to school!

Start planning your outfits now, and let the countdown begin!
