Giulianelli ‘22: Homecoming approaches quickly at Romeo High School, and with that comes the homecoming game.
This year, our football team plays against Port Huron Northern on Friday, October 15th at Barnabo.
Senior football player Matthew Jackman ‘22 seems eager for this week’s game.“I feel very confident. We have home field advantage so I feel like this game should go well for us. I feel like it’s not going to be a close matchup at all and we’re just going to have a fun time out there,” Jackman said.
Aside from the game itself, the homecoming game contains many exciting events. At halftime, the homecoming court’s called together and the king and queen’s announced.
Senior night also takes place at the game. Rachel Reynolds ‘22, a senior and leader of the cheer teams, seems extremely excited for the homecoming game. “My favorite thing about my sport is being able to have fun and do something I love. But also being around people who all have the same goal in mind and will push each other to be our best while still having fun,” Reynolds said.
Last but certainly not least, performances from the dance team, cheer team, and the band at halftime bring excitement to the homecoming game. Elise Kemp ‘22, one of the varsity dance team members, shares her excitement to perform for the crowd: “I’m excited to do hip hop at halftime because we don’t get to do it very often and people seem to enjoy it every year,” Kemp said.
From the game to performances, homecoming court and senior night, the homecoming game brings everyone together. Something fun and exciting awaits students before the dance itself.
Come to the homecoming game against Port Huron Northern this upcoming Friday at 7pm!
