Romeo Girls track team took on Stevenson and got their first win of the year.
Mackenzi Verellen started the field events off strong with a 25 foot 7 inch throw to win the shot put. A strong run in the 1600 relay from Barla, P.Kline, Lake, Kearnery with a time of 4:27 to cap the meet, beating Stevenson 70-67.
The Girls Romeo track team improved their record to 1-3.

The Romeo Lacrosse team played very much like the weather portrayed on Saturday, very hot and cold. With a day that poured on second then did not have a cloud in sight the next, the Bulldogs faced some struggles.
Starting out the game great the Bulldogs tied the game at one when Brendan Salva (11) put one in net. Romeo and Rochester Adams went back and forth in the first with Romeo goals by Brandon Lebioda (12) and Trevor Atkinson (11)
Romeo’s struggles then kicked in as they only scored one goal the rest of the game in a 16-4 losing effort. Samuel Mohawk (12) had the last goal.
Romeo looks to bounce back against Grosse Pointe North on Monday.

The Romeo lacrosse team’s nightmares continued right into the game against Grosse Pointe North on Monday. Romeo who was down 2-0 at the end of the first, came storming back in the second quarter to finish out the half strong.
Romeo scored their first goal in the second period as Trevor Atkinson(11) found the back of the net, Grosse Pointe North answered Atkinson adding a goal of their own.
“We realized that we are a lot better then we have been playing and we really focused on coming out and playing our game. It worked for us.” Jack Smith(12) said about his team’s performance.
After Atkinson’s second goal, Brendan Salva(11) quickly did all he could scoring twice in the third quarter. The game was wrapped up by a swift move from Samuel Mohawk(12) dumping it into Jake Kaczor(11) for a goal. Romeo went on to win 6-4.
Romeo will play at L’anse Creuse North on Thursday.

The Romeo Bulldogs softball team continues its solid play on Wednesday with one more sweep in a double header. The hot bats and the impressive pitching helps the bulldogs defeat Imlay City 7-0 and 6-3.
In game one, Erin Barg (11) really made a big difference knocking two balls out of the park. Kayla Noch (11) also added a homer, sending the bulldogs to the huge win. Taylor Weaver(12) threw another scoreless game for Romeo.
“I have been working really hard on my hitting lately and I am really excited to see my hard work paying off,” said Barg. “I am seeing the ball really well right now and taking good cuts and good things are happening.”
The bats continued as Barg hit another home run making it three for the day. Barg and Morgan Gardner (10) led the bulldogs with three hits in game two, while Noch and Alexis Jandreski(11) added two hits. Weaver got the win in the second game of the doubleheader as well going 2-0 for the day.
Romeo will be hosting Eisenhower in a double header on Wednesday starting at 4.
