Alexandra Giordano ‘16 – With only two short weeks of waiting left, Spring Break 2015 lurks just around the corner. Preparing eagerly, students ready themselves for their well-needed vacation. Shopping for the perfect bathing suit and spending a few extra hours at the gym are just some of the few of the contributions to spring fever.
“I’m so excited to get out of Michigan for a little while,” Alyssa Curtis ‘16 said. “I can’t wait to enjoy the sun and to be on the beach for a week.”
Curtis, like many other students, count down the days until they step foot in paradise. Sick of the bitter Michigan weather, they crave the hours spent lounging out by the pool, enjoying the warm sun with sand between their toes.
Filled with anticipation, students talk about where they are going, and who they are going with.
“I am going to Fort Lauderdale for break and I’m really excited because I get to spend seven days with my best friend and girlfriend,” Brendan Banach ‘16 said.
Although there are many different spring break locations, most of them have one thing in common: a balmy, temperate climate.
“I’m going to Punta Cana with some friends and my parents,” Corinn Palmer ‘15 said, “I’m excited to get out of the country, leave Michigan weather for a while and get tan.”
Spending a week with friends and loved ones in a tropical place creates fond memories to cherish for years to come. Sunkissed skin, clear blue skies, and ocean waves bring reason for happiness and extraordinary enjoyment.
The tropical weather of many locations is what pushes students to the very edge of anticipation in regards to their upcoming vacations.
Anxious to leave the country, seniors are ready for their senior trip. The most popular destination this year is Mexico. After four short years of highschool, and entire childhoods of growing up together, they are excited for one of their final and most memorable events.
“I’ve been looking forward to the senior trip for a really long time,” Ryan Ryegart ‘15 said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun for all of us. I’m going to always remember this trip.”
Ready to make memories that they will never forget, Spring Break 2015 shows promise to be an unforgettable week, spent in amazing places.
