Varsity Softball 4/14

George Wilson ’14 – Sports

After a great season last year the Romeo girl’s softball team started their 2014 campaign to a great start.  Romeo split a doubleheader on Monday night with Warren Regina High School.

In the first game the Bulldogs defeated Regina by a score of 5-0.  Taylor Weaver(12) pitched for Romeo and gave up 0 runs on only 3 hits.  Weaver also recorded 8 strikeouts and an RBI to help her seal her first win of the season.

Madison Jones(9) and Madyson Collins(9) both scored as Jones knocked in 2 runs and Collins 1, while Kayla Noch (11) also had an RBI for Romeo.

Collins(9) pitched well for Romeo in game 2, but Romeo ended up losing to Regina 7-5 while Erin Barg(11) hit the bulldogs first home run of the season with Danielle Szajna(11) on base.

Varsity Baseball 4/14

Joseph Curtis ’14 – Sports

The Bulldogs opened up division play with a mercy rule win, 10-0 in five innings, against Grosse Pointe North.

Greg Antoine (12) pitched all five innings and only gave up one hit, while striking out five.  Antoine (12) also contributed with two hits and an RBI. Luke Fennell (12) went 2 for 3 with two RBI’s.

The win put them 1-0 in the the Mac White, and their next matchup will be against the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen again Wednesday, April 16.

Varsity Lacrosse 4/15

J.P Hochstein ’14- Sports

The Romeo Lacrosse team won Tuesday against L’anse Creuse High School by a score of 6-5. Romeo was led by their Senior Goalkeeper Drew Pointe, who held L’anse Creuse to just 2 goals in the last three quarters.

On offense Romeo’s Jordan Hess(12), Samuel Mohawk(12), Brenden Salva(11) and Blake Blaisedell(9) all scored one, while Trevor Atkinson(11) finished with 2.

Romeos next game is Tuesday April 22nd against L’anse Creuse North High School, at 7:00 P.M.
