If Romeo’s softball team was worried about their bats earlier in the season they’re definitely at peace now. The bulldogs scored 19 runs in a double header against Richmond High school Monday.
In game one of the doubleheader, Morgan Gardner(10) had four RBIs on three hits for the Bulldogs, while Taylor Weaver(12) pitched a complete game for Romeo only giving up six hits with eight strikeouts. Romeo’s first game warmed up the bats as they headed into their second game.
Game two is where the bats rolled out as Romeo defeated Richmond 12-0. Danielle Szajna(11), Madyson Collins(9), and Kayla Knoch(11) all homered for the dogs in the night cap of the double header. Madison Jones(9) also had three hits and scored three runs, while Erin Barg(11) added two hits. Weaver got the win again, striking out four and only giving up one hit.
Romeo will play Anchor Bay High school on Wednesday, April 23rd at six.

Romeo took on Utica Ford Monday in a MAC White Conference matchup of which the Dawgs suffered a 3-2 loss.
Ford jumped to an early 1-0 lead in the first on a RBI single. Romeo soon came alive in the 2nd and 3rd inning with the bats warmed up the Dawgs took a 2-1 lead on a bunt single by Jason Sammut, and scored on a throwing error that allowed Greg Antoine to score after stealing 3rd base.
Antoine pitched a long game but ended up taking the loss, he finished with nine strikeouts, while walking three, and allowing five hits.
The Bulldogs fall to 2-6 on the season overall, with a 2-2 record in the MAC White.
