Ally Malcolm ‘17- On Tuesday, November 9th, voters across Macomb County approved the renewal of a construction bond on a vote of 2970 yes to 1618 no. The bond generates 2.1 million dollars for the Romeo School District every year for the next four years to cover project costs.
By passing this bond, residents will have to pay a tax of $125 over the course of a year. The plan is for the money to go towards problem areas in the school district. Such problem areas would include, but are not limited to, new security systems, parking lot pavings, and boiler and roof replacements.
As the community gets ready for the upcoming improvements in the school district because of the passing of this bond, residents rejoice.
This is the third time since 2004 that this bond has been passed.
