Rebecca Sebastian ‘20: Along with the addition of the Freshman Academy and more classes, the district brought in many new teachers to accompany all of the positive changes taking place. The Ninth Grade Academy welcomes Rosana Hunsberger, the newest Spanish teacher and Team Discovery member.

Señora Hunsberger, a Romeo alum, looks forward to teaching at the school she went to as a teenager.  She relishes the opportunity to teach alongside some of the teachers that once taught her, including Señora Ford, Ms. Mies, Mr. Cali, and many more.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of Romeo. I grew up in Romeo and I am so happy to be home,” Hunsberger said. “My favorite memory so far has been getting to know my students and re-connecting with some of my favorite teachers as colleagues now.”

Before becoming a teacher at Romeo, Hunsberger taught Spanish two and three. She worked in Grand Rapids for seven years and at Davison High School for two more years. She now teaches Spanish two at the Ninth Grade Academy.

“So far this year my classes have been awesome, teachers and administrators are amazing to work with, and this community is fantastic to be a part of. I expect more of the same for the years to come.”

With her years of experience and passion for the community, the district remains delighted to welcome Señora to the Romeo family and optimistically looks to see what she brings to the 9th Grade Academy as the year goes on.
