Kayla Kieleszewski ‘18: As seniors head into their final semester of high school, the class of 2018 looks forward to many exciting upcoming events. Everything from prom to the senior all night party intend to bring the group of students together for one last “hoorah.”
The countdown begins for the senior’s 2018 spring break, starting March 30 until April 9. This year, many of the RHS seniors plan to relax in tropical Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for the class trip. Staying at the Punta Cana Hard Rock Resort, students look forward to a week full of fun in the sun. On the other hand, some students choose to stay in the country to enjoy the sunny state of Florida. St. Petersburg and Fort Myers are two popular alternative Spring Break destinations to the class trip. Many students rent a house in Fort Myers with a group of friends and spend the week together while the boy’s varsity Baseball team heads down to St. Petersburg to get an early start on their season.
A month following spring break, the seniors face their final day of high school, May 25. The day, full of tears and goodbyes, opens up a new chapter for the futures of the students.
Shortly after the last day of school, senior prom takes place on May 31 at Penna’s. After months of expenses and preparation, students receive the chance to appreciate a lively night with each other.
Following prom, the final day that officially ends their high school career: graduation. On June 3, seniors and their closest family members attend a ceremony that recognizes all the accomplishments and hard work earned throughout one’s life. The night ends with the senior all night party hosted at Dave and Buster’s.
Even though senior year is coming to a close, there is much more for the class of 2018 to look forward to and allow themselves the chance to enjoy their last few months in high school.
