Brooke Lynn Tremblay ‘17: This year, Romeo High School is giving exemption to seniors on their final exams if, and only if, their MME, M-STEP, and SAT scores were considered proficient. The steps to be exempt are simple:
- Go to the Main Office and grab or request a Senior Exemption Form.
- Write your first and last name on the paper along with the date.
- Hand it back to the secretary who gave the form to you.
After you’ve completed all of these steps, you will receive an email from the school if you’re considered proficient in English, Math, Science, and/or Social Studies, asking you to return to the main office to pick up that form, now signed by administration with your scores.
The final steps require you to get a signature from the teacher of whatever subject(s) you would like exemption from and have gotten approval for. Then, you and your parent or guardian sign the bottom, and return the form, once again, to the main office. Students have until Friday, May 19th to get the slip back to the office completed.
PLEASE NOTE: If you don’t obtain a passing grade under a subject you received a proficient score in, you’re required to take the final. Exemption is limited to one class per subject. If any other questions arise, please see a secretary or administrator.
