Claire Spitz ‘20: Romeo hosts many different talents, and the Romeo Theatre Company’s just one of the many RHS groups to showcase them. Acting and performance come easy to each of these students, and sharing their passions is what they love to do. This fall, RTC showcases a very exciting project, an adaptation of the famous Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
Auditions took place on September 25, 26, and 27. The actors tried their best to achieve their desired role, and the talent in the room seemed limitless. After a couple days of deliberation, the select few were chosen, and the cast list went up. Carter Hutchinson earned the role of Charlie Bucket, and Mr. Willy Wonka himself will be performed by Chaise Chaffee.
These actors look to weeks of preparation ahead of them. Learning lines, practicing their movements, and getting into character, the students delve into their world of theatre. Along with the cast, the tech crew begins work on getting ready to make sure the show looks beautiful and runs smoothly.
The Romeo Theatre Company shows off all of their hard work November 8-11. The Friday and Saturday show will begin at 7:00 p.m., and the Sunday show offers a viewing time, at 2:00 pm. You can purchase tickets online for the weekend shows here: RTC Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Tickets or at the door.
