Brendan Banach ‘16 – Romeo continues their state playoff dreams coming off a 3-1 victory over a very good Farmington Hills Mercy volleyball team. It was a long, sloppy game played by both teams. Mercy dug out just about everything Romeo threw at them, forcing a tough game for the Bulldogs.

Romeo came out extremely prepared and motivated, owning game one 25-16.

The success continued on into the second set winning 25-20. However, Mercy put up a fight the rest of the game. Taking game 3 from Romeo with a score of 23-25. Despite the effort, it wasn’t enough of a fight, Romeo ended Mercy’s state title run with a score of 25-21 in the fourth set. Jodie Kelly 17’ led the Bulldogs in the final game, recording multiple kills that were very needed.

The Bulldogs will face Temperance Bedford in a semifinal match Friday at 7:15. This is Romeo’s first trip to the Semifinals since the 1998-1999 season. Hoping to win their first State title, Romeo will need a victory against Temperance Bedford, in order to reach the State title game.
