Patrick Vinckier ‘19: Romeo volleyball fell short on Tuesday, September 18, against Eisenhower High School in five sets: 22-25, 25-17, 25-21, 13-21, 9-15.
“It was a very well fought match but we just let them get on a few too many runs. In the fifth set we weren’t able to take care of the ball when it mattered and Ike kept their composure. I know that we are definitely capable of beating Ike the next time we play,” Ally Konarzewski ‘19 said.
Eisenhower fired a few key runs in the final sets to bring them on top. She added that the team intends to come together to defeat Ike in the next matchup.
The team found their rhythm on Thursday, September 20, at Marysville High School, winning all three sets.
“We changed the whole lineup and experimented new options. People stepped up into new positions,” Shayla Munn ‘21 said.
The team showed up differently, playing people in different spots. Munn explained how it made everyone step up to embrace their new role.
The girls look to keep it going on the road Tuesday, September 25, against Dakota High School.
