Robert Gjelaj ‘19: The Romeo Varsity Dance Team season officially ended with many high notes. The girls attended Nationals, placing second in the small gameday category but unfortunately failed to pass the preliminaries in the categories of Pom and Jazz.
As the season started the girls seemed ready to compete against the top teams in the state, they started out rough but finished strong. They came closer together as a team and started to believe in themselves. After believing in each other it sparked and turned the season around and they started placing higher in their categories.
With the team only having two seniors, it pushed the freshman expectations to higher standards.
“I hope to continue my dance career in college but I am still undecided of where I want to attend,” Fallon Hare ‘19 states.
“I enjoyed my dance career as it lasted, every minute of training and spending time with my teammates,” Ryan Guitar ‘19 said.
The two seniors remain very proud of the team and hold high expectations for the young core for the next few years.
“I felt like it went really well and it was really fun because of all the events we did this year and sharing these memories with the girls,” Carsyn Boggio ‘22 explains. “I expect us to come back to Nationals and hope to place first and bring back a National Championship to Romeo.”
Congratulations to the Varsity Dance Team on a great season and best of luck next year with the high expectations going into the 2020 season.
