Austin Taseski ‘21: The girls varsity dance team competed in Dance nationals from February 1 to February 4, in Orlando, Florida at Disney World for the Universal Dance Association. The girls competitive week consisted of three events: Jazz, Pom, and Gameday.
The dance team placed second in the nation in Small Varsity Gameday Category, a great achievement for the program.
“It felt really good because all we wanted was top 10 and when the announcer named us second it was really good,” Fallon Hare ‘19 said.
The girls also took part of Jazz and Pom events but unfortunately failed to pass the preliminaries.
“It was really fun and cool to see other teams competing,” Carsyn Boggio ‘22 said.
When the team was not competing or practicing they bonded by walking around the parks and going on rides together.
“It was fun going to the parks because not only did we have fun but we grew as closer friends and I think if it wasn’t for this trip it’d be hard to form the relationships that we already had,” Ryan Guitar ‘19 said.
With a great trip and year for the team, they hope to come back stronger next year at Dance Nationals 2020.
