Austin Taseski ‘21: The Romeo Bulldogs played the Dakota Cougars Tuesday, April 23 and unfortunately lost in both boys and girls.
Abe Mayfield ‘20, Nino Brasza ‘21, Cameron Kemp ‘19, and John Jackman ‘19 took first place in the 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays. Jackman prevails once again with another first place finish in the 100m and 200m sprints. Mayfield won his second event in the long jump with an impressive distance of 19ft 9in.
“I did really well again and even though we loss we have to hope that we bounce back next week at Chippewa,” Mayfield said.
For long distance Jack Wilson ‘20 won the two mile and the 4×800 along with Chris Rilley ‘19, Luke Schwartz ‘20, and Jack Emmendorfer ‘19.
The girls track team had first place finishes in 400m sprint, Ashley Quinn ‘19, and 200m sprints, Gabriella Rimkus ‘19. Charlene Yarema ‘19 took first in the mile run and Rachel Felstow ‘22 took home the two mile.
“The team will try to bounce back next week by winning or taking points in any events we can, since we don’t fill all spots in all events and the 400 felt good to win knowing that Dakota had some good competition,” Quinn said.
The Bulldogs look to end an extended losing streak by keeping focused and training extra hard.
