It takes a lot more than a few school cancellations to slow down the Romeo Theatre Company. They are hard at work rehearsing for their March production “9 to 5: The Musical” and they’ve been making great progress.

Kendra Walls, the director of the high school’s theatre company, is feeling extremely confident about how the show is coming along.

“I never thought we would be ahead of the game with 8 snow days under our belt,” Walls said.

At each rehearsal, the cast and crew are hard at work; running lines, learning songs, and building sets. Jenny Pries (11) and Maddy Petz (11) are the show’s choreographers and are responsible for teaching all the dance numbers to the cast members. All their efforts are beginning to pay off.

“The show is going to be really amazing! Even though all of the snow days have delayed us a bit, it’s not stopping us from putting on a fabulous show.  It is really exciting to see all of the dances coming to life on the stage with so much energy.” Petz said.

With each rehearsal, the cast and crew come closer and closer to being performance ready. They’re all feeling excited as they watch the pieces fall into place. Olivia Belfie (11), who will be portraying the role of Doralee Rhodes in the play, is extremely enthusiastic about showing off the finished piece.

“The rehearsals are running very smoothly and the product is fantastic. This show will really leave the audience wanting more. They will find themselves falling in love with the characters–as if they had known them for their entire lives!” Belfie said.
