Megan Vandeberghe ‘16 – Romeo Theatre Arts officially announces their closing show of the 2015-16 season: You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, featuring the high school’s Theatre I and Theatre II classes as well as Powell and Romeo Middle School students.
Director Kendra Knoblock selected two entirely separate casts to incorporate everyone’s individual talent into the production. Playing classic characters and timeless personalities from Charlie Brown’s crush on the little red-headed girl, to Linus, and his attachment to his blanket, the class works every day during 4th hour and oftentimes after school.
The students who feel uncomfortable in the spotlight work backstage on sound, lighting, and the set. Every prop, structure, and costume comes from a behind-the-scenes student.
Several motivated middle school students from both Romeo and Powell also work with high schoolers after school on Mondays and Wednesdays to learn new dances and perfect their singing.
General admission tickets for You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown are on sale now for $10 at showtix4u.com and will be sold at the door a half an hour before the show begins on both days. Unlike many performances, only two shows will be taking place. The first on Friday, May 6 at 7:00p.m. and Saturday, May 7, also at 7:00p.m., each with a unique cast.
