Joseph Milana ‘19: With a devastating loss of 4-6 against Port Huron Northern, comes the conclusion of a great season for the Varsity hockey team.
Although coming in at 6-19, the team started to pick up steam towards the end of the season and headed in strong into playoffs, posing at a huge threat to anyone who underestimated them.
Looking back, Lorenzo Evangelista ‘19 reminisces on the past season.
“My favorite game of the season was senior night, against Grosse Pointe North, because we stuck together and played strong and won in overtime, and it was forsure one of the hypest wins of the season,” Evangelista said. “My favorite memory of the season was going up to Chelsea with the boys in the public school showcase because we all hung out together and it was nice to get a bonding experience with the boys.”
The team set many goals for the season. The team’s seniors focused on enjoying their final season in the Romeo Hockey program.
“Going into it with four seniors, we knew we wouldn’t be quite as successful as the past years in Romeo hockey, and the main goal was to enjoy our least year, and share it with our team,” Garrett Ganfield ‘19 said. “I definitely think we achieved that goal, as it was such a fun year and I am proud to be apart of that.”
The season didn’t end how the boys hoped, but they look to bounce back with a successful off-season and come out strong next season.
