Rachel Peil ‘22: Romeo tee’d off the 2019 season on Tuesday, September 10 against Utica Ford High School. Unfortunately, the week didn’t start off too hot, as Romeo, with a score of 207 just missed beating Ford’s score of 198.

Despite the match not going according to plan, Ella Schultz ‘22 didn’t dwell on the negativity, and remained focused on the positives, “My strengths were driving and putting. Chipping didn’t go too well for me yesterday but I stayed focused and got through the match,” Schultz said.

The Bulldogs, determined to bounce back from the season opening loss, then headed to the MAC Invitational Tournament, on Wednesday, September 11.

Romeo competed in an 18 hole tournament, taking place at  Cherry Creek Golf Course.

Much of Macomb County participated, with over 12 teams in attendance. Finishing with an overall team of 384, The Dogs took 4th place and found themselves just two strokes out of third.

Danielle Denomme ‘21, felt impressed with the way her team performed, “The day started out rough. We were all tired and it was super humid. After we got comfortable with our groups we started to play well. I am so happy we all pulled through and played on the wet and hot course. I am super proud of my team and how we all gave our best effort,” she said.

The girls look to retain this positive energy and bring it with them when they tee off next, on Tuesday, September 17, against Utica High school.
