Kade Messner ‘17 – Going up against their MAC Red rival, the varsity basketball team competed against the Eisenhower Eagles on Tuesday night. It was senior night for the Eagles and they played well, defeating the Bulldogs 69-43.
Leading the Bulldogs, Brad Sorenson ‘15 scored 17 points, and Paxton Pfeil ‘15 added 8 points of his own.
“Brad can shoot the ball and he needs some help,” Coach Cushingberry said. “We just need more balance on offense. Everybody in the county knows Brad can shoot, but we need that balance.”
Matching Sorenson’s efforts, the Eisenhower seniors dominated accumulating all of Ike’s points for the first 28 minutes of the game. Greason, Curle, and Fredal scored the first 37 points for the Eagles.
Cushingberry does not seem too worried about the team’s recent slump. Injuries have really hindered the team.
“It could be a blessing in disguise because we come back here for districts and they’ll be looking for this soft team and won’t see it,” Cushingberry said. “We’ve been fighting adversity every week.”
With 3 games left in the regular season, the Bulldogs hope to finish strong and improve their 5-12 record. The team will take on L’Anse Creuse at home this Friday night.
Come out and support your Bulldogs!
