Rachel Peil ‘22: The boys varsity baseball team competed in several games this past week. The first game played on Tuesday, April 13 against the Lake Orion Dragons went very well.

Linken Hayward ‘21 started the game for the Bulldogs as he pitched six solid innings. Hayward also earned two RBI’s.

The Bulldogs started off slow, but David Inwood ‘21 got some momentum going for the Bulldogs with two hits and two RBI’s in the sixth. The dogs scored seven runs in the sixth, leading to an 8-4 victory.

The team then competed on Thursday, April 15, against Lutheran High North.

Cole Tinson ‘22, Jozef Modlinski ‘22 and Ty Mycheck ‘21 pitched for the Bulldogs, but their valiant efforts failed as they lost by a score of 7-0.

“We need to start making solid contact with the ball and play better defense,” Tinson said.

Hoping to bounce back from Thursday’s tough loss, the Bulldogs competed in a double header against St. Clair on Saturday, April 17. 

In game one, Andrew Miller ‘21 pitched seven shutout innings. 

Unfortunately, the Bulldogs lost by a score of 2-0.

In game two, Isaac Stively ‘21 traveled to the mound for the Bulldogs and pitched six strong innings. 

Nick Kucharski ‘21 found himself in a bases loaded jam, but got out to ensure his team the win.

The Bulldogs won by a score of 3-2 with a walk off double by Josiah Hicks ‘22.
