Kayla Kieleszewski ‘18: Each year, Romeo presents one award that represents passion, hard work, and dedication. This award, known as the “Teacher of the Year” Award, earns its position in the hands of one all deserving educator. For the 2017-2018 school year, Romeo High School is proud to announce Mrs. Jennifer Boggio as Teacher of the Year.

Boggio was nominated by her fellow co-workers for this honorary award. Boggio embodies all the amazing qualities that many look for in a friend, educator, and co-worker.

Mrs. Boggio’s thriving career began in 1998. Boggio started off in elementary education and had a change of heart in her second year of college, switching her major to secondary education. During her years of experience, Boggio has taught a variety of math classes, including, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, TAPS, Pre Calculus, AP Statistics, and Computers.

With her vast amount of years and courses, Boggio continues to learn valuable lessons being in a position that keeps her on her toes.

“Everyday is a new day,” Boggio said. “You get to start fresh no matter what happened the day, week, month before.”

While working within a high school, Boggio enjoys the new perspectives she faces on a daily basis.

“My favorite part of my job is hanging out with teenagers all day,” Boggio said. “It’s different everyday.”

In the future, Boggio patiently looks forward to the new improvements Romeo High School will soon make regarding the academies. Both teachers and students face an entirely different learning environment that presents a wide variety of opportunities.

“I am excited for the academies in the new building,” Boggio said. “I think we will better prepare students for college and career in the new model.”

With several other teachers in the running for this nomination, Boggio was thrilled to be selected.

“I was flattered to be nominated by my co-workers because there are a lot of amazing teachers here,” Boggio said.

Through Boggio’s dedication as an educator, she deservingly accepts the award as “Teacher of the Year.” As a community, we congratulate Mrs. Jennifer Boggio on her outstanding accomplishments.
