BrookeLynn Tremblay ‘17 – For the last nine years, Michael Kaufman has been principal here at Romeo High School. He has seen many of the changes not only in the community, but in us as well. On April 15th, 2016 Kaufman officially announced he will retire after this year comes to a close. He does not know if he will retire completely from work, but is fully retiring as principal.
With this news has come many mixed reactions from students and staff alike. Though we are saddened to see him go, we are grateful for all he has done for Romeo High School.
“I am sad to see him go,” Cathi Vazquez said. “He wasn’t just a great boss, but a great guy,”
As Romeo continues on into future years, it will to thrive on the legacy Kaufman left behind. Always rooting us on in each and everything we do, he has created a powerful support system among the entire student body. He believed in us, and pushed for us to do our best even in our worst times. The values he emphasized are ones many of us will never forget.
“Strive to be successful so that you can make a bigger difference on the planet and other people,” Kaufman said.
