Justin McNulty ’20: Skipping the the White House Correspondents Dinner, for his second straight year in a row, President Trump plans to hold a rally right here in our own backyard.
Scheduled for this Saturday April 28, the Washington, Michigan Rally takes place at Total Sports Park located on Powell road.
This marks President Trump’s second visit to the Macomb Country area within the last few years, as he spoke at Macomb Community College back in 2016.
The reasoning for Trump’s sudden visit to Macomb County is to retain the support of citizens in the area.
The Trump Campaign emphasizes the need to win over Macomb County votes, which he did by a slim 8% of the votes in the 2016 election, ultimately giving him enough to secure Michigan’s electoral votes.
“While the fake news media will be celebrating themselves with the denizens of Washington society in the swamp that evening, President Trump will be in a completely different Washington, celebrating our national economic revival with patriotic Americans,” Trump’s Campaign COO, Michael Glasser, stated.
Tickets for the rally can be reserved on http://www.donaldjtrump.com/ at no cost, yet only the first 4,000-5,000 supporters are guaranteed to get in.
Doors open at 4 p.m for the 7 p.m rally, so prepare to leave early if your Saturday plans consist of seeing the President speak.
