Adam Dix ‘18 & Brandon Motoligin ‘17: With homecoming week quickly approaching, the students at Romeo High School prepare for the annual Powder Puff football game, set for this Monday, October 17th at Barnabo field. The juniors, playing in their first Powder Puff game look to pull off the upset against the seniors. The seniors, with one years experience, look to leave their mark on Romeo with a win.
“With our hard work and determination I think the seniors will come out with the win, we have a great coaching staff, the juniors better watch out,” Sydney Mazur ‘17 said.
Although the present senior class lost last year, the senior coaches feel very confident in their players abilities, and like their chances to win on Monday night.
“Our chances of beating the juniors is 100%,” coach, Nick Quasarano ‘17 said. “The squad is looking good, we have a roster full of talent, and they’re ready to go all out.”
On the other side of the field the juniors are preparing for their first ever Powder Puff game.
“I definitely expect a win out of the girls because they will be putting in hard work and a lot of effort,” coach Cole Harko ‘18 said.
Though this is the juniors first rodeo, the coaching staff and players believe they have what it takes to overcome the seniors with their overall fire offence and defense.
Key players to watch out for on the seniors team are Alex Locke, Courtney Henderson, Sydney Mazur, and Payton Klein. Potential star players for the juniors include Amber Flinn, Kamryn Duffield, and the Weber twins.
The game will kick off homecoming week, so make sure to get hype and come out to the annual Powder Puff game next monday at Barnabo Field.
