Mackenzie Sprecher ‘16 – Romeo Theatre Company starts off the 2014-15 season with an exciting lineup. With Ms. Walls’ 26th year of directing the company in full swing, this year brings in a few throwbacks to the early days of Romeo’s drama department. This fall, the actors and technicians alike will present the story of a 1980’s performing arts high school in New York City, titled “Fame.” The show is fun, comedic, relates to the struggles of everyday high school life, and a surefire way to make you laugh. They will be ending this season with a bang (and a “shooby doo wop shoo bop”) with the musical we all know and love, “Grease.” This is a show that never seems to lose it’s dazzle and there isn’t a better way to end the company’s season.
“I’m really looking forward to this theatre season because I’ll be wrapping up my journey through high school with Fame and Grease. I can’t wait to be reunited with my second family,” Jessica Tibboles (12) said. Tibboles works as the assistant director to the department and has high hopes for this year’s success.
The drama club will be holding an open informational meeting on Wednesday, September 10th from 1:30-2:30pm after school in the auditorium. All are welcome to attend. It’s surely going to be a lively year for Romeo’s drama students and it’s only just beginning!
