Chloe Lucci ‘19: With the release of Apple’s three new iPhones, the X, the 8 and the 8+, social media and the news furthered the hype by promoting the release on sites such as: Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram.
The new iPhone X features an all new all glass screen design, facial recognition, and a new and improved camera. The new iPhone 8 and 8+ includes a bigger screen and more camera updates.
“My favorite things about the iPhone 8 is the spotlight camera feature,” Pacitti ‘19 said. “When you take a picture of someone the feature blacks out the background so it is just focusing on the person.”
The Apples company is advertising the new phones with HD photos and glittering generalities on the website.
“The [iPhone X is the] most durable glass ever in a smartphone, front and back. Wireless charging. Water and dust resistant,” Apple Co. said.
The new improvements of the phones quickly became a desire for everybody, and everyone wants one, but is it really as good as they say it is?
“The iPhone X definitely stood up to the expectations and hype,” Gallop ‘19 said. “I love the facial recognition and the new camera.”
The new iPhone X retails for $999.
“So far I have not found anything about it that is not worth the price,” Harris ‘18 said. “Going from the iPhone 6 to the X was a big jump, and so far I would say it is worth the price.”
As the new iPhones release, consumers find their current phones work less efficiently as they once did, which unfortunately leaves some without a choice on whether or not to get the new one.
However, the Apple Company provides multiple options and plans for carriers to promote different packages; yet sometimes even with these options, the price is still considered expensive by many.
While reviews on the the new improvements and technological advancements blow some consumers away, others find the high price unjustified for the changes.
