Isabella Capanda ‘19: On Friday, January 20, 2018, a car crash occurred on 28 mile and North Avenue leaving Teresa Winquest dead. This terrible accident happened between a New Haven Bus and Winquest’s 2002 Buick Century around 6:30 a.m. Witnesses claim that Winquest lost control of her vehicle and accidentally crossed the center lane when she was struck by the front of the bus. When paramedics arrived, Winquest was pronounced dead at the scene. There were two students on the bus and though shaken, neither were hurt. Winquest was alone in her car, wearing a seat belt, at the time of her unfortunate passing.
Winquest was a loving member of the Romeo community and will be greatly missed. Her helping heart will live in the memories of the lives that she touched. She is survived by her two daughters– Brianna May and Lillian Winquest, her sister– April Cahours, her brother– Andrew Moore, and her parents– Douglas and Rhonda Decker.
