Brendan Arendts’21: Most students stay focused for a span of 10-15 minutes during a school hour, making it difficult for teachers who struggle to prolong interest within their kids. The best teachers possess the uncanny ability to get and maintain their students attention. They make learning fun and everyday they bring a new surprise to the classroom. Romeo High School teacher, Ms. Roberts, sets an example for other teachers to follow.
Ms. Roberts looks to finish up her first year in Romeo and her first as a full time teacher. She currently teaches English 11 and 12, with hopes of displaying a positive influence on her students lives.
“I’m from Imlay City, so Romeo was always really close and I like it here because it has a great influence of rural and urban feel,” Roberts said.
Ms. Roberts received her schooling from Central Michigan University with a degree in teaching. She loves Romeo and said that the community really embraced her and she’s grateful for the opportunity to teach here.
“Romeo is really great and I’m grateful I got to work here” Roberts said.
Ms. Roberts continues to leave a positive impact on all the lives she touches and shows a tremendous amount of passion in her job.
