On Tuesday, April 18, bands from Romeo High School, Powell Middle School, and Romeo Middle School performed their last band concert in the main gymnasium. The bands selected two to three songs to perform to parents and teachers. It was the first time that both eighth grade classes played together and merged as one large band.

Solos, Duets, and Group performed from separate grades and celebrated wins from state level competitions. The jazz band and drumline also played between each segment of the middle school and high school performances.

The “FLAG SQUAD” also performed one of their routines to the song “Run Away Baby,” by Bruno Mars. The end of the evening was concluded with the Romeo fight song as families stood up to sing along.

Concessions and a 50/50 raffle were held to fundraise for the band’s next season. The band hopes that middle school students will remain interested in band and create the successful high school bands of the future.
