Austin Taseski ‘21: On December 18th, 2019 Madelyn Malczewski ‘20 committed to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Malczewski, an all state cross country and track runner at Romeo adds this to her list of several accomplishments throughout high school.

Malczewski found herself with a variety of colleges to choose from because of her extended resume, but she chose Belmont for many reasons.

“When I did the official visit it kind of felt like home I guess you could say, I really liked the coaches and the team and they have some other incoming freshman girls who are really good. It’s building a strong cross country program,” Malczewski said.

While attending Belmont, Malczewski also plans to get a degree in law or business.

Throughout her time in Romeo Community Schools and the cross country program, Malczewski cherishes the many memories with friends and teammates.

“I’m going to miss the close community feel of Romeo and my favorite memory is probably going all state with my 4×800 meter relay team last spring at the state meet,” Malczewski said.

Malczweski’s future running for the Bruins in Nashville looks bright as she hopes to unlock her full potential at the next level.

“I don’t think I have reached my full potential yet, so I’m excited to see what a college training  schedule brings,” Malczeswki said.

Romeo continues to produce many successful cross country athletes and Malczewski is no exception.
Congratulations to Maddy, and best of luck competing at Belmont!
