Adam Sebastian ‘19: Varsity Volleyball stand-out setter Kamryn Duffield ‘18 recently signed her letter of intent to play volleyball for Wayne State University.
“I chose [Wayne State] because I like the city of Detroit, the coaches and the team,” Duffield said. “It also offers a variety of majors so if I decide to change my major, I don’t need to transfer schools.”
She officially signed her four-year commitment on November 8, 2017, choosing Wayne State over both Northwood University and Hillsdale College.
“I’ve had the goal to get a scholarship since I was 11 years old,” Duffield said. “Signing my name on the paper was a very surreal moment for me.”
Although Duffield already accomplished a major goal, she plans to keep improving her skills for the upcoming season as well.
“I’m very excited for it, Wayne is growing into one of the strongest programs in the GLIAC and I’m excited to be apart of the team as we work to making it to a national championship,” Duffield said.
Duffield is a prime example that with a little bit of hard work and determination, anyone can accomplish their dreams.
