Robert Gjelaj ‘19 and Adam Sebastian ‘19: On Tuesday, November 20, Kaden Stively ‘19 officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play Division II baseball for Wayne State University.
“I went on my visit to Wayne State and I really liked the atmosphere there and how everyone was really friendly,’ Stively said. “I’m glad that it’s close to home and that I will be competing at such a high level.”
The Wayne State Warriors play in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) with other teams from Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Northwood University and Davenport University lead the 2018 GLIAC standings as the Warriors finished fourth overall with a record of 15-12 in conference play and a 27-21 overall record.
Cut from the freshman baseball team only three season ago, Stively, a left-handed Pitcher, draws continual motivation from the unfortunate event. He challenged himself to become a better pitcher and eventually succeeded by making the varsity squad. He now plans to play collegiately next season.
Stively provides an example that with hard work and determination anything is possible. Congratulations to Kaden and best of luck during his final season with the Bulldogs and as a future Warrior!
