Elliott Byrd ‘22: On February 5th, 2020 Jonathon Lafave ‘20 committed to Michigan Technological University. Lafave a six foot five 260 pound beast, accomplished numerous accolades while blocking for the Romeo Bulldogs. This year alone Lafave was all state first team, all region first team, and all county. Lafave started all four years on varsity at offensive tackle. His first two years at Troy and his last two for the Bulldogs. Not to mention, Lafave was a multi-sport athlete. He excelled on the lacrosse and wrestling team. The past two seasons Romeo ran behind Lafave a ton, gaining more than 5,000 rushing yards.
“Michigan Tech is a great football program and has a great environment and campus,” Lafave said.
Lafave was a leader ever since he joined the Romeo football program, both on and off the field. Jonathon’s high motor, effort, and vocal leadership will fit in perfectly with the program Michigan Tech has built. When Lafave isn’t pancaking defensive lineman, he plans to study engineering at Michigan Tech. Although Lafave is planning to study engineering he is undecided on which specific degree at this time.
Congratulations Jonathon on all of his accomplishments and his commitment to Michigan Technological University.
