Brandon Motoligin ‘17: On February 15th Intramural basketball playoffs officially start, but playoff preparation has already started for many teams. The playoffs are a single game elimination tournament. Tournament seeding is determined by regular season records, and playoff brackets will be posted at a later date.
As of 2/8/17 the BC Ballers sit at the top of the standings with a 9-1 record.
”We have had a great season so far we’ve only had one loss and it was towards the beginning, but we never stopped going hard,” BCB member, Jackson Butcher ‘17 said. “Our team has grown closer and we flow as one now and play simultaneously. In the playoffs we plan to run the table and destroy everyone in our path on the way to the championship #BCBallers.”
Currently, in second place are The Dads with a 7-1 record.
“The dad pack will unite and will prevail in the championship through hard work and dad jokes, they will teach the other teams to respect their elders,” The Dads member, Dominic Lucchi ‘17 said.
In the middle of the standings are the Macaroni & 3’s with a 5-3 record.
“We had a rough couple games in the middle of the season but the last few games we have been playing really good basketball, and are ready to make a run in the playoffs and win the championship,” Macaroni & 3’s member, Nick Quasarano ‘17 said.
Looking for their first win of the season, Low Budget owns a 0-9 record.
“Our teams goal is to get a win by the end of the season. Just one win with the budget we’re on,” Jake Purdy ‘17 said.
Intramural basketball games will continue on Wednesday the 8th and Thursday the 9th this week. Come out and watch the teams play as they prepare for the playoffs.
