Justin McNulty ‘20: On Thursday, April 11, the Romeo varsity baseball team took on Lake Orion on back-to-back days looking to avenge their loss from Wednesday, April 10.

Dom Hann ‘20 took control of the game from the mound, striking out nine batters and allowing only two hits through the first six innings of the game.

Jack Cucchiara ‘19 took over for Hann starting in the seventh inning and held on to pick up the win.

Offensively, Blake McRae ‘19 drove in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth allowing the Dogs to grasp a 5-4 victory.

Matt Boeve ‘19 also lead the way with his bat, adding two big hits on the day.

On Friday, April 12, Romeo hosted the Cougars from Stoney Creek, winning the game in spectacular fashion.

McRae forced the ‘mercy’ with his bases loaded grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning, giving Romeo an impressive 15-5 victory.

Patrick Vinckier ‘19 became a problem for Cougar hitters, allowing only one earned run in five solid innings.

Both Cameron Miscovich ‘20 and Bret Miller ‘20 swung the bats with ease.

“Picking up two quality victorys to end the week allows us to gain huge momentum as we roll into league play,” Daniel Vinckier ‘20 said.

The Bulldogs begin league play Monday, April 15, with a three game series against the Stevenson Titans.
