Kayla Kieleszewski ‘18: It’s that time of year again.

Homecoming.

This means a week filled with fun events and activities each day. This years theme, Hollywood, begins Monday, October 2nd, as the seniors and juniors kick off homecoming week playing each other in their annual rivalry, the powder puff game. This event continues to work as a huge success for fundraising the senior class. Kick off starts at 7:30 p.m.

Following the powder puff game, on Wednesday, October 4th, the homecoming parade will be held in downtown Romeo. Each grade presents their floats to the community. Continuing with the Hollywood theme, each grade has a different movie. Freshmen with “Toy Story,” sophomores represent “Alice in Wonderland,” juniors chose “Up,” and last, but most certainly not least, seniors create the “Wizard of Oz” float.

Friday, October 6th, students gather during 6th hour for the annual pep rally. The intent is to excite the student body and get ready for both the football game and dance. Friday night, the Romeo Bulldogs take on the Warren Mott Marauders in a competitive match up. The game begins at 7:00 p.m.

Finally, Saturday October 7th, the annual homecoming dance runs from 7:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. in the high school gym.

In addition, during homecoming week, each day represents a different spirit day. On Monday, students can sport a jersey for jersey day. On Tuesday find a “twin” and match for stunt double day, plus Wednesday, an all time favorite, with pajama day. Thursday, a year to year classic, remains class color day, freshman wear yellow, sophomores wear green, juniors wear orange and seniors wear red, white and blue. Lastly, Friday, wear your homecoming shirt or Romeo spirit wear.

Homecoming week contains many different events so be sure to participate and show your school spirit!
