Padyn Kesselring ‘19 & Devin Palmer ‘19: Last Saturday, the varsity hockey team defeated the Port Huron Northern Huskies to claim their third consecutive Regional title by a score of 2-1.
Pouncing on an early lead, the Huskies scored in the first period and the Bulldogs failed to answer until the second, when Alec Lindecker ‘18 found the back of the net. The game remained tied, 1-1, and closely contested until Brett Lanski lit the lamp with 24 seconds left in the game.
“It’s awesome to have another game with my teammates,” Lanski ‘17 said. “Winning the game and having that possibly be my last game, it was just amazing.”
The Bulldogs (16-11-0) must now face off against the number one ranked team in the state, Brother Rice Warriors (22-4-1) in a quarter final matchup tonight at 7:30 at Suburban Ice.
“I feel like they are not going to take us too lightly,” Jacob Petri ‘17 said. “But I feel like we will be more ready than they are and hopefully we can upset them.”
