Bryce Tinson ‘20: Cross town rival, Eisenhower, and Port Huron made up the schedule for the girl’s varsity basketball team this week. They played Port Huron first at home, then went to Eisenhower to play the Eagles for their second game.
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, proving to be too much for the Big Reds of Port Huron, making the rest of the game fairly easy. The final score doesn’t tell the whole story, as Port Huron cut the lead with the Bulldogs second unit in. The final ended up 43-36, with Amber Flynn ‘20 leading the team.
In a defensive slug fest until the end, the team lost to Ike by a score of 40-31. Handling the Eagles, turned out to be just a little too much for the girls, as Eisenhower got the better of them in the final minutes. Flynn and Olivia Medaugh ‘19 led the way scoring. Even with the loss, the team responded well to their performance.
“I think we played pretty well,” Karen Brown ‘19 said. “We played hard until the end and never gave up.”
With the week over, the Bulldogs take a 2-1 record to Utica Ford taking on the Falcons. Be there on Tuesday, December 12, to help cheer them on.
